Hunter Headlines UnHelpful

Bendigo Gun Shop Smiths Outdoors takes newspapers to task for their bias against Licensed Firearms Owner (LFAOs).

Frustration is rising among LFAOs who must pass ongoing checks and balances to maintain the privilege of ownership and use. News articles which conflate ‘hunting’ with ‘criminality’ offend LFAOs, the majority of whom are full time employed, earning higher than the average wage and tertiary or trade qualified.

The ‘hunter’ in this article is alleged to have driven an unlicensed car to shoot a prohibited weapon (a crossbow) in an illegal location at a protected species.

Bendigo’s LFAOs are not criminals. In fact, the opposite is true.  LFAOs are people you can trust.

LFAOs deplore the illegal and inhumane hunting of animals and we act with patience, persistence and precision at all times. Would that editors and journalists do the same.
